A poem I wrote about the wedding. [Andrew McMillan]

I wanted to include you on a letter I sent my son Christian and my new daughter Sarah about the wedding.

Dear Christian and Sarah,

We have wanted to leave you alone at this special time. Your faces shined like angels on that Saturday evening.
I wrote some poetry tonight,
Here is one you might like….

Bringing Her Home

My son takes her hand in public now

Hiding the small avalanche falling inside,

Almost crushing his breath.

Love of a girl on a summer day

And her silk dress are kinder than

The salmon colored skies over the sea.

The warmth of animals sleeping in the woods

Rest in her eyes.

When she turns to him, a thousand fish dart

To even deeper seas.

When she leans on his chest,

His face is a ship breaking blue water

Into white ribbons.
