For the last 31 years, we have been with Mission South America with the call to add value to the lives of Colombia, South America with the love that Jesus gave us.
In 1994, the McMillan family traveled to the kidnapping, murder, and drug capital of the western hemisphere to plant a church and a foundation.
God thought Medellin, Colombia was a good place to raise a family.
And turns out He was right (as He usually is). It became a very large family: The church, Comunidad (Community), is now the largest church in Medellin with over 8,000 members, the Foundation, Viento Fresco, cares for over 150 high-risk children, and our women’s foundation, Mujer Talento is continually rescuing women from the sex trade.
Currently, Andrew and Kathy are mentoring the new senior pastor’s of the church, Pastor Juan and Lili. Andrew is also writing more books. Christian and Sarah live here in Medellin and work with the church. Christian is a part of our executive leadership team and has a huge part in directing the vision of the church. Sarah volunteers with the counseling department, and helps counsel the women rescued from the sex trade at our women’s foundation. Andrew Jr. is working at Lakewood Church in video production but plans on coming back to Medellin soon.
Do not forget to check out Andrew´s new book, The Safest Place on Earth, and think about supporting Mission South America via Paypal.
